Maybe consider Greyhound for shipping the hood? I've seen sellers on ebay offering to ship using that method.
You could make a wood frame out of furring strips to keep it from getting mangled. Just a thought. If you lived in the Brentwood in So Cal, I'd be all over those parts. ***By the way, what color is the truck???*** Looking for original, patina'd white parts.........
