Inspiration Pictures Needed: Frame/Susp Color Combos
I've seen some pictures in the past and thought I had things figured out, and right now I'm having second thoughts and can't find pictures to help me out. I would like pictures of 67-72 frames and suspension setups with contrasting colors, even if it is a couple small components that contrast. Pictures of the setup with the body on also would be nice to see.
I'm painting my frame with hammered finish black tremclad. I plan to have the frame done tonight and want to start on the rest of the components tomorrow. I've got charcoal and silver hammered finish paint, and am thinking of going with the silver as there isn't enough difference between the black and charcoal without bright lighting. I'm thinking springs, track bar and calipers in silver, everything else black. But I'm open to ideas or opinions......but like they say, pictures are worth 1000 words, so if you have any please post them! Thanks.

Re: Inspiration Pictures Needed: Frame/Susp Color Combos
I almost did exactly the same thing. In fact, I painted mine origionallly with black hammertone paint for my frame, and decided to switch to the gunmetal (charcoal) hammertone for my frame, and did all the suspension pieces in the silver hammertone. It gives a nice contrast, and the charcoal gets noticed because its not just black. I have seen another frame done though where it was powdercoated a satin black, and the suspension pieces were painted with a high metalflake bright silver, nd it looked awesome. No matter what you do, the contrast helps show off your custom suspenson pieces, and looks good as well. BTW, mine has held up real well, and I can easily touch it up before a show if needed as opposed to powdercoat or a BC/CC paint job. Pics below. Excuse the dustiness in the pic of the rear frame

Re: Inspiration Pictures Needed: Frame/Susp Color Combos
Thanks for the response. The colors of these hammered paints are sure deciving. At a glance your frame looks like more of a medium grey. In fact my frame turned out closer to what I would consider a charcoal color rather than black, which is just fine by me as I was torn between black and charcoal right from the get go. From a distance it starts looking darker. I added some pictures to my flickr of what I painted so far. http://www.flickr.com/photos/1711832...57625864888014
I still have to decide on what to color to paint my steering components....I think silver might be a bit much on them so I'm leaning towards black. I am going to prep the calipers and rotors really well, hit them with a few coats of high temp paint and then the silver hammered paint. I've had success doing this in the past so I think it will hold up to the heat. I think the rear end and trailing arms will both be black, track bar silver.
