Dana 44 Drums
In researching parts for the 61 GMC rear end im putting in my truck I came across some older posts on here that were looking for rear drums to fit the D44 that came stock in some of our trucks, as the normal 60-66 drums that were used on most trucks wont fit. After crossing some part numbers the cheapest ones I came across were at Summit. Pretty cheap at $38.95 each. Part number AXT-AX8821, brand name on the box was Auto Extra. Mine came in this afternoon, and they're a perfect fit after drilling the wheel stud holes to 9/16. I just thought Id pass this along to those interested, someone may even be able to find these cheaper somewhere else. Also, they are for 1971 Chevrolet 4x4 trucks with 11 x 2" rear brakes.
