Battery won't stay charged after changing headlight switch?
Ugh it's driving me crazy! I changed my headlight switch from one I found at the scrap yard.
Only thing I've done. It's always stayed charged just fine before this. Anyone have any idea what this might be? I should note as well that my dash lights worked fine before changing the switch, and after changing them, my dash lights no longer work. Giving it a little jiggle gets them to turn on. Weird, but it's driving my crazy!

Probably why the donor truck got scrapped. Seriously, if there's a ground on it, it could start a fire. I'd throw it out and get one from the parts store.

Haha. There isn't any way it's anything else really from what I can tell. Is this something I can generally pick up from a local parts store or should I stick to getting it online?
Also is there a reason why this would cause something like this? I did take it apart and look at it. Nothing seemed too corroded or out of place. Might there be a way to fix it, it seems like an awful simple piece.

If you have a local parts store that happens to be a distribution hub, they might have one. It's worth a try.
I'm lucky enough to have a NAPA that is the warehouse for a large portion of the southeast about 3 miles from my house. It's rare that they don't have stuff like that. |

Is your Dome lamp or dash lamps on?

When I first replaced it, no the dash lights would not come on when I rotated the switch. I opened it up, and attempted to clean some stuff up, and put it back in. Since then, I can turn it to the far right, and it will turn on the somewhat (in my case at least) orange / amber light below the cluster comes on.
