I am considering using this intake from a 67 327. I want to have the oil fill on the intake. The intake and carb were on a 67 truck.

First question: Can I use this intake with an adaptor to fit a Edelbrock? The pattern on the intake is small and the edelbrock butterflies hit before opening.

Second: The carburetor pictured matches perfectly. Were a set when removed. Carb was rebuild 6 years ago and never used. Noticed the rubber boot on the injector pump is cracked but otherwise looks discolored from cleaning but good.

Anyone think highly of this carb and intake set up or go newer.... Dont think there is an adaptor available to put Edelbrock on the intake?

think he just cares about the old look with oil fill in the intake and clean valve covers..

other than the intake being heavy. does a holley square bore 600cfm carb fit..
or makebe a 390

I think edelbrock makes a breather style intake new.

Sorry, for the dealy guys but I placed the thread just before going to work. I am looking for reliability over performance so one concern is if the carburetor gives me trouble than I might be searching for another to match or switch later. I have a new Edelbrock but i don't think i can find an adaptor.

I have seen the new Edelbrock intakes with the breather though? $200.00

I just need to make up my mind.

Tell us everything you know about the engine you plan on putting this setup on. It may make perfect sense on one engine, an be the worst possible choice on another.

The engine I got from a buddy. It is a 3900010 block. A basic stock build including cam. Runs great @8 degrees like most stockers. Nothing fancy.

Should work just fine with a stock/stockish cam. Clean it up and go for it.

I guess I should get a firm price from the guy with the carb and intake and that may help sway my decision as well.

I got to run again , my wife is pulling me out the door to go to dinner.

I wouldn't pay more than $20-25 for the intake, and I'd get the ideal carb for my setup. If it's a 600 cfm eddy $50 tops, other then that get a q-jet.

3900010 are you sure its not a 3970010 I know of no casting number But most likely you have the 350 that intake is for a 4V Rochester carb And they don't make parts any more.O got 4 of them old things it was a good carburetor for when i got my 1965 3/4 ton But went to the new Edalbrock 600 with the Edalbrock intake and it cut down on the heat on my carb.On the 4V car's that cast iron intake with the new fuel that is out to day I boiled the fuel in that carb and got Veper lock a few times And best thing to do is go alum intake better cooling and best off use antifreeze in the old engines Use full straight on the old chevy blocks or you will eat that intake in 3 years

Chevykevy, IMHO...
The first thing you want to do, if you are considering the stock intake, is flip it over, remove the tin shield (don't loose the rivets), clean the carbon and make sure it is not cracked. Very common.
If it's OK, run the numbers and cross match it with applications.
You never know when you are going to own a very valuable boat anchor because some '67 Vette owner JUST HAS TO HAVE IT!
Many, many aftermarket alum intakes have a flat pad that can be bored to accept the oil fill tube.

just got back in from dinner and caught up with your messages. From what You guys are telling me, it might be worth a try if the price is right. If I get it at a good price, then it won't be so hard to take if if it doesn't work out in the long run . If this is the case I can get an Edelbrock intake.

Looks like an intake for a Rochester 4G, the predecessor to the Quadrajet.
If you want a Q-jet version of that intake, look for GM # 3919805.
