Any one took apart the side of a fleetside bed?I have the bed apart from floor and front panel ,looks as though it will seperate from the top of spear and bottom spear.I have 2 long fleet beds and was going to make 1 but it is starting to look like alot of work.Any help or advice, my truck has a long step on it now.

Re: Fleetside Bed

The sides are welded together, except of course the parts that bolt to it.
The rear cross piece is tack welded to the sides at the rear, and bolted inside.

Yes but how is the best way to take it apart, seems impossible to drill spot welds out.Maybe I'll make a knife to try and seperate them.

Re: Fleetside Bed

If there are spot welds you have to drill em. else you will make a mess of things.
