Question Help!!!!

I hope everyones having a good monday. Well here's my problem, my headlights are on are bright (all 4) and when I hit the dimmer no lights except parking and running lights. All four headlights go completely out. The brake and tailights seem ok. So is it a switch, short or ??? Anyone else have a problem like this. My son did bump someone two months ago, strong enough to bend the bumper, but I never noticed the problem until tonight.

Thank you

Tom

Tom have you checked the dimmer switch? Not sure what year truck you have but the older ones with dimmer switch in the floor can have this problem. Mine did it once but lights would not work on either setting. After so long the wires get worn and short out there. Might be a good place to start.

Its a 82, dimmer on the floor. So you think that the first place I should look? You don't think the accident had anything to do with it?

BTW, thank you for such a quick reply.

Hey, where some pics of your blazer, love those 73-75 body style with the full removable top. I had 4 of those mid 70's blazers, 4wd though.

This is so funny, this thread started off by asking about a light switch problem and ended up talking about someones "JIMMY " or advertising it on a license plate.

So how do I know if it's the light switch or not????????
