suburban door striker

I was wondering if you can swap the rear door striker post thing for the front one. My front ones are wore out and passenger side door is hard to shut. I was wondering if i took one off the rear and put it on the front if that would be ok. Also what happens if you unscrew it all the way. They move around and i was wondering if the thing they screw into will fall down or what.

All the strikers for the side doors are the same. They screw in to a plate that is loosely held in place, but it should not fall. The plate has to have play for adjustment of the striker.

Re: suburban door striker

Mine are wore out at the end like someone took a file to them. Where the tip is is all flat.

Re: suburban door striker

my local NAPA stocks them for less than $10 each. Well worth the money. When I did my fronts the adjustment plate behind them fell and I had to remove the interior B pillar trim to retrive them, not a big deal, just more time consuming. The rears stayed in place.

Instead of replacing the whole hinges, replace the pins and bushings.

I did that when i worked at chevy and it would seem easyer to just bolt on the hole new thing on my truck. The hindge is 20 bucks and the pins are 10. Have no decided yet due to no money. Thanks for the info.
