Need Inspiration

For some reason I have no want to work on square bodies right now. It has been like this for quite a while. I have got squares coming out my ears!!! I have every part I might need. What do I do to fix this problem???? I have a 87' SRW CC begging for a 1/2 ton, short bed swap. It has been sitting atleast two years. It's not for sale either.

Re: Need Inspiration

You have to focus Tony. I know you have had some serious distractions in your life. I hope that those times have passed and you are ready to move on. Pick a project and dedicate some time to it every weekend. As you see progress, the momentum will grow.

If not, I got first dibs on the SWB/CC....

The appetite comes while you eat!
Its a saying here and that works for wrenching too!
Just go out and check the fluids and inspect a sparkplug. After that start looking over it and imagine what it would look and feel like when you ride the finished project!
I think the motivation will start to grow again!
That is the way i motivated myself and some 15 years later i sat in my truck and rode it down the street full of pride!
The amount of turned heads and twisted necks are definitly worth the work! :-)

I think you need to respond or delete this thread you have for starters

I suggest going to a car show, or do something to the truck...one of those things might inspire you and get you out of your funk. Usually works for me.

Re: Need Inspiration

I find I lose motivation if im not driving something. I start a project, work on it while driving it as long as I can and then end up needing another dd which turns into its own project. Ive got an 85 buick regal in the garage now that ive had for about 7 years and its sat for probably 4 of them. It needs a few things but I think if I got plates for it and bolted a seat back into it and had some fun I'd probably get the ambition I need to finally finish the thing.

Re: Need Inspiration

Baby steps work for me. Break it down into small, manageable projects and do them one at a time. If I don't have the cash to buy parts/materials for a particular project I do something that doesn't cost anything (disassemble, clean). Doing anything is better than doing nothing.

Re: Need Inspiration

I drive my truck daily everyday, and I find that helps when I have to work on it.....#1) because it's my only vehicle right now, and #2) because I get lots of looks and it's real fun to drive so workin on it is easy, it doesn't seem like work...if it was in a shop in a million pieces, and I just kept throwing money at it , it would get discouraging real quick!
