I currently have the non barrel type. And I am wondering how good it is compared to the barrel type. And is there a way to convert to the barrel type in the same location?

What year is this on?

They all work good just as good if they are charged right with correct amount of oil.

Barrel...non-barrel?

I replaced mine with a new Delphi unit, which is an OEM part. Works good. Seems like the compressor, refrigerant, and the PAG oil and another small part for the system ran me less than $300. Yeah, I still had my cousins' labor to pay, but he's easy on the wallet.

Figured that out from your first post...I'm unclear on what you're calling a barrel, versus a non-barrel.
