yes, can do w/o removal. The problem is the high spot on the corrugation gets water in it since it is not sealed and stays wet on top of the crossmember. Even the crossmember can be removed w/o taking off the bedsides. It is attached with 2 bolts per side (inside back) and 2 3/4" flanges that can be cut with an angle grinder. You can make flanges to bolt the low side of the bedfloor, while you weld the high side. Will keep it aligned, then you can cut off the flanges, then weld them, or keep them on

hope this makes sense, if not post up and try to 'splain another way
