1972 Big Block Engine Mounts

Where can I find a set og 1972 Chevy truck big block engine mounts? I have the towers pictured below. I need the mounts that bolt to the big block which, in turn, bolt to the towers. I called my local GM dealership and their books don't go back that far.

Check your local junkyard for the "clamshells". You can also post a want-to-buy ad here on the parts board. I bet KrazyRay, Teeitup, or TKorinek has a set they would sell.

I bought brand new for my 402 at NAPA. I'm sorry don't have the part number offhand.

1972 BB mounts are common at all the local part stores. You should be able to find those there and sometimes they have them under the red/black bushing section of the store out in the isles. It is the 68-71 BB mounts that are hard to find and you have to go to the board vendors or places like Brothers to get them at 80 bucks each. Good Luck on these.

He is looking for the metal bracket (clam shell) that bolts to the engine, not the motor mounts themselves. You have to find those used. GM discontinued them a while back. I would post a wanted to buy add in the parts section of these boards. WES

Re: 1972 Big Block Engine Mounts

Well, I just picked up 2 sets of the real deal 72 clamshells. I'm going to be putting them on the parts board soon. I will be asking $36 shipped per set. Or, to save a buck, I have all you can eat square body clam shells for $16 shipped.

Here's a pic of the 72 clam shells:
