A rebuild project. Going backwards 70 to 68.........

Hello everybody,

This week is the start to a new project for me and the son. We are starting on our 70 and going to, what we think make some major changes. I will post as we go on the rebuild. We plan to weld the holes where the molding was, replace the front end with a 68. Replace the bed, rewire, repaint and a lot of other changes. We have lots of new parts and what to a little custom work too. I hope everyone will enjoy and give me your thoughts too. I would like to share this build. This will be a chop cut rebuild, you know real people, real projects and real deadlines Want to have fun with my son and share knowledge. Here's a few pics to start with. I'll post more pics each week. So here we go let's enjoy this project............

What a nice starting point you go there! All the ideas and parts look great, but I don't understand the reason for wanting to replace the bed...it's looks great! Any suspension plans?

Re: Going backwards 70 to 68.........

the bed has a sprayed in bed linner, and I really wanted the inside painted to match the truck with a wooden bed.

You can paint the bed liner. However if you are wanting the smooth steel that would be a big problem removing the liner.
Oops, just reread..... You like the wood floors..lol

That is awesome EZ! Wish I had a cool dad that 'wanted' me to build a truck together!

As tubbed mentioned, it looks like you have a pretty clean subject to begin with(almost a waste to strip her down) but I'm sure it'll only get better with all the work you guys put into it together!

Looking forward to the updates on this build!!

Re: Going backwards 70 to 68.........

She's has some cancer at the bottom of the doors and some around the back glass plus a few scratches and dings but over all a good solid truck. This sight is great to learn ideas and people's input. The bed had a patch job so thats where to wooden floor idea came in. As this project goes things may change. I look forward to hearing everyones ideas and commits.
