New Chevy Addition
Well, This probably isn't the right place to post this or even the right forum but since I have my 64 C10, I feel like you guys are my family and it would only be appropriate to share with you all.
I finally got rid of my jeep, it was time for something 4 door and that wouldn't require so much maintenance attention. So After digging around I picked up this super clean 2004 Silverado SS! I really got looking at these due to the fact they have a very similar engine that I want to put in the C10 down the road. I had to drive all the way out to Nebraska to get it but I have been completely happy with my purchase!! Here's what she looked like sitting in the lot! |

Re: New Chevy Addition
Thanks guys! Yeah the SS is pretty slick and I managed to pick up the AWD version... BONUS!!! Definitely more bells and whistles than I'm used to. I can only imagine this power in the C10, especially since the weight difference is huge!

Re: New Chevy Addition
issues that you should be aware of at about 75 or 80,000 miles. Watch out for all four window motors to go bad ..a very expensive fix. Also on mine the windshield wipers would not shut off, I had to pull the fuse when they were not needed and also the gas gauge wouldnt work. There was a recall on the gauge clusters if it hasnt already been replaced. I never felt as if 4 wheel high was working, but was very tough in four low. Other than these problems it was great, it had heated leather seats basically loaded and metalic burnt orange exterior. I REALLY dont mean to rain on your parade, but just a heads up about things to watch for, again mine might have just been a lemon, but we are all in this together, like a big family I just thought I would share my experience with you.

Re: New Chevy Addition
Thanks for the heads up! It gives me something to keep an eye on and I had noticed my passenger side window is slower than the drivers side... might be an early sign. The cluster was already replaced verified via carfax and there are no more recalls to be addressed. I don't have the 4x4/2x4 switch since its always 4wheel so hopefully no issues there. Heated leather in Colorado... Wow, how did I ever live without it?!?!

Re: New Chevy Addition
Sweet truck. Nothing better then a shiney black Chevy IMO. How you liking the LQ9 6.0? I just recently bought a 2005 Silverado VHO which has the LQ9 and I am loving it. Below is a link to a pic of mine the day I got her.

Re: New Chevy Addition
The LQ9 6.0 is bullet proof.... 270 K still has original injectors ... If you do regular maintanence it will run for ever.
