I wonder why it stutters every time he floors it? It sounds like it's hitting the limiter in the 1-2 shift. I wonder why he doesn't address that?

I hear that alot with turbo'ed sand toys. I believe it is hard to dial in due to variable traction which affects boost rate. It's really easy to zing the motor in the sand, when you dont mean too. The blown trucks/cars dont seem to have the issue, with consistant boost.

That makes sense. I've not had a lot of exposure to sand vehicles. I can see where the resistance could vary.

I think if it had bigger tires it would launch itself into space...

Re: 1200hp sand **********...... evil!!!

Sounds like he needs to back the total advance up about 4 degrees and about two heat ranges cooler on the spark plugs. Then he may wanna get a little more concerned about pushing a rod or two out the side of the block.

Nah Dont worry about the rods through the side, it would ruin all the fun out of it Especially when there are no keys in the ignition, I love screamin the redline when it ain't mine

Re: 1200hp sand **********...... evil!!!

Why can we not say **********? I thought that it was an acceptable nick name for our body style truck. Jay

Re: 1200hp sand **********...... evil!!!

There are several videos of it on you tube. He says it is a 540cu in, has a 7500 rev limiter, and the motor has been together for three years. He pops the rev limiter because it builds boost so fast, he has to shift to second right when he punches it to the floor. Runs a 4.0 @ 80 MPH, 100yds in the sand.

Re: 1200hp sand **********...... evil!!!

I don't think I would stand in front of that thing while it's spooling up on the dyno. That's a LOT of power and it would suck if it broke loose.
