Bench seat question

My 71 is a work in progress due to school and money so right now it is lacking a seat while I repair the cancer in the floorboards. My dad has a 66 c20 he is making much faster progress with and he pulled the bench out of it to replace it with a modern 60/40 out of a dodge so I was wondering could I use this bench seat? The foam and covering is trashed but my other question is could I order a foam and houndstooth recover kit in LMC for my yr truck and put it on the 66 bench frame?? Thanks
