Anybody gotten exhaust work done there burb recently?

I got a quote for $450 to dual out my burb with turbo mufflers. I hate the stock single exhaust on my burb its too restrictive and I want a little more performance out of the ole girl. Anybody think this price is high? Our burbs are huge so it makes for alot of tubing about 14 feet haha. Maybe I should just do it myself.

Sounds about right with the mufflers. I just got quoted $330 to have everything re-routed between frame rails (Installing 'bags in next few weeks). That includes cutting/reinforcing holes in crossmember. But utilizing my current Flow Masters.

My local guy did mine for around 250 but his prices are considerably lower than most.

If you are going out behind the axle, there is a fair amount of work involved.....If I was havin it done, I would turn it out directly behind the front suspension and run it along the outside of the frame and turn out ahead of the rear wheels. I like bullet straight thru glasspacks like cherry bombs.

AZDon do you have pic's of what you want? I am planning on redoing mine on my 72 sub and was thinking about running them about 6" to 12" in front of rear wheels at a 45 degree angle.

Mine had existing duals with glasspacks that hang below the frame and go up and over the rear axle inboard of the chassis and out the back. My current setup is vulnerable to speedbumps and prevent further lowering. I'll probably replace eventually.
IMO, out the back should NEVER be done on a wagon, panel, or van unless you really like the smell of exhaust.
The design I mentioned is completely tucked above the bottom of the chassis. The pipes pass thru the raised gap behind the front suspension and run along the outside of the frame and you can turn out anywhere and at any angle you choose. I've always wanted to slip angle-cut truck stacks over the bullet glasspacks and turn out a 45 degree angle. Logically, the turnout should be behind the last openable window.
