1966 GMC Frame Off Rebuild
I am working on 1966 GMC that I am doing a frame off on. It was equiped with a 305 V-6 and a 3 Speed trans. I have access to a 1967 Chey truck that is a total but it has P/S, Power Brakes, 350 4 Bolt main motor and Turbo 350 Trans. Does anyone know if anything from this truck other than motor and trans work on the 66 that I am building? For instance can the power brakes work, the steering column and steering gear or trans crossmenber.

Re: 1966 GMC Frame Off Rebuild
yes it will work but, I would just get a 73-87 front crossmember, pwr booster, MC and use the PS from the 67. column from the 67 should work with a little tweeking. The 73-87 crossmember will have disc brakes and maintenance will be easier to find parts and a little cheaper too.

Re: 1966 GMC Frame Off Rebuild
Yes, all the drivetrain as well as the running gear will bolt up to your '66 GMC frame. But I agree with Clyde, I would upgrade to front disc brakes while you're at it......it is really quite simple to do.
