Now I got a bad hub bearing in my 02 burb

I got lucky and did the o2 sensor myself to the tune of $65 when the mechanics wanted darn near $300. This hub bearing seems to be a little out of my league though. Same mechanics are wanting about $385 out the door for this job.

Anybody in or around Anderson, SC that will do it for the low-low

edit: and of course cline was dead on a month ago when i asked about these things:

Here some other things that seem to wear out "regularly"....
Front wheel bearings (hub assembly).
Parking brake shoes &/or rear rotors.
Intermediate steering shaft.
Intake manifold gaskets.
Water pump gaskets.
Fuel pump.
Fuel pressure regulator.

That price is high in my opinion, $7500 to $8000 is more reasonable.
how in the crap my mechanic missed that i don't know. i was able to move the tire back and forth about 3-4 inches. guess he won't be my mechanic anymore!

If you can do brake pads, you can do a hub. 45 min maybe a hour the first time with hand tools. Especially if its a 2wd. 4wd will take you about 15 min more.

nah im in no way mechanically inclined! im still shocked i replaced the o2 sensor with no problems. and when dealing with brakes i'd rather not have youtube as a source of info to try it myself! im sure my wife (who drives this 90% of the time) concurs

pull the caliper off and hang it to the side, take off the rotor, unplug the sensor for the hub, remove the 3 bolts that hold the hub on, pry off the hub. took about an hour and im far from a mechanic lol.

let us know how it turned out, at least you could be ready for the passenger side!
