86 C10 Wiring
I have an 86 C10 with the carburated 305. I have removed almost all of the emmisions crap and the A/C components. Now I am on to the wiring. I need to find out if there is aaguide somewhere that show which wires are irrelivant and can be removed. I have a lot of loose wires, mostly from the previous owner removing things, and I want to make sure I am not removing needed wires. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 86 C10 Wiring
i believe the haynes manual has a schematic which would allow you to figure out what is what and remove the needless stuff

Re: 86 C10 Wiring
here is a complete wiring diagram for 73-87 (it's split up by year differences)...it was put together by CaptKaos (Chris) this could help you...as for wiring.....if you don't want radio's, interior lights, ash tray, or any of the other stuff inside you could just strip it down the the bare basics.....but I really doubt that your going to want to get rid of most wiring....these trucks didn't have many bells and whistles so most of it is important and the cut wires your seeing might be from hack jobs......in that case get rid of them!

The (10),
Where would I find the diagrams you referenced. None of the wires under the hood are cut, they are just loose wires with connectors. They were disconnected and left hanging. Thanks for the help. Posted via Mobile Device |

here is the link http://forum.73-87chevytrucks.com/sm...?topic=11766.0 I'd check what the connectors are supposed to go to before I take anything out.....some might be important while others might not be..

Re: 86 C10 Wiring
I can do anything mechanically, but electrical work worries me. I once fried a whole harness in a Mustang, so I'm a little hesitant.
