Gas Tank Question

I have a 32 gallon tank from an 84 Burb I want to put in my 67. I want to drop the tank to clean it out (the 67 has sat for a loooong time) so I figure I'll try to upgrade while I'm at it. Will the stock gage in the 67 work with the sending unit from the 84 or will I have to find a way to use the gage from the 84? I kept it just in case. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

No idea on the gauge, but are you planning to modify the tank?
Since I suspect that the fill tube will be a problem for you?

To be honest, I haven't planned that far ahead yet. I have been tossing around a couple ideas but I don't know how those will work out until I get the tank out of storage. I pretty much have everything else kinda figured out tho...just have to get my camaro road worthy and then I will be working on the burb.

Now remember the sending unit works off negative ground one wire. you cut and splice it into your existing wire harness.My one questions is Why.for that much Gas.One other thing that bigger take will hang down further Now i own 2 of these dang things and all my gas tanks look like some one has beat the hell of of them from underneath If your going to raise your suburban Sure no problem.But remember 50 gallons is a lot of weight you really don't win in mile per gallon when you carring extra weight Carry 4 fat men around in a suburban you will not get that 19 mpg in a new suburban if you have over 1000 pounds in it

I am wanting to replace the stock tank with the 32 gallon tank I have. You did bring up a good point of it hanging lower, I'll be sure to check that out when the time comes. I can figure out how to wire it...I work as a maintenance tech on CNC milling machines...I'm just not sure if the gage will work...I guess I'll just have to compare the two sending units with my volt meter.
