My 86

Hey everyone just stumbled on to this forum and am stoked! I have been researching info on my truck and this place is amazing! Without further ado he is my gas guzzler.....

As it sits it has a 350, Holley carb., dual exhaust, full a/c and some tires that need to be replaced.

My plans are a 4/6 drop and some 2010 camaro SS rims (for the time being)

Re: My 86

Get a well tuned Q-Jet back on there & unless you're heavy footed your fuel mileage will increase! Headers & an intake would also help some. Looks like a nice rig to start out with though!!! That's pretty much what I am looking for to build my daughter's first vehicle. Look forward to seeing more pics.

Re: My 86

Im getting about 10mpg @ the moment. Can you elaborate on the "q-jet"? Im about to start school soon and I wouldnt mind dumping a little performance to save a little $$ on gas. I forgot to mention I do have an edelbrock intake manifold, headers and intake.

Re: My 86

Your carb needs work. My ZZ4 can gets 13-15 MPG in the city with a 2500 stall converter. 18.5 MPG on the highway.

Nice truck. Welcome to the site.

Re: My 86

by q-jet he means quadrajet (fancy words for stock) and it might be a wise idea to try to adjust the holley before getting into the q-jet, i know when i put the big block into my 62 gmc i was getting 7 feet to the gallon and when i took a second look at my demon the fuel screws were adjusted all the way out... sat there and played with it for a while and im getting about 12mpg in town with 3.07 gears

Re: My 86

I will have some better shots of it this weekend. Also scored a flip kit for $50. May have her dropped a lot sooner then I expected. Going to order new tires today so that will set me back a little bit.
