ECE 4/6, now I need helper bags
I heard alot of people on here say they added helper air bags to their 4/6
dropped truck, but noone says what kind they use. I need them for the rear of my 71 c/10, but can't even find any for stock height. I want the kind that goes inside the coil spring if there is something out there that works. |

If your going to do that, why not just replace the springs with bags all together? It will accomplish the same thing.

You can replace them with bags and then just use schrader valves and air as you go.

Re: ECE 4/6, now I need helper bags
I like the stance of the 4/6 drop. But now you guys have me thinking I
made a mistake, maybe I should have went with bags. If I do bags in the rear I wouldn't do shrader valves. I would just wire up a cheap $30 12v air compressor. It may take awhile to air up, but I wouldn't have to depend on gas station pumps. This was my plan for the booster bags.

Re: ECE 4/6, now I need helper bags
Just take the rear coils and blocks off, and sell it before it gets too used.
Dominator 2500's are super cheap, and not that hard to install. Id make a tall "hat" for the upper brackets, then cut it down until you get your stance and ride how YOU like it. Measure the height of your coils with the truck on the ground. Subtract 2" from that measurement to compensate for your drop blocks. That will be the height of your bag and bracket combo. I believe those bags need to be at 5.5-7" tall at ride height. Make the hat as tall as the difference at the bags lowest ride hieght. Install, then play with varying pressures to see what you like riding at. Cut the hats if needed. |

Re: ECE 4/6, now I need helper bags
I need to get several loads of topsoil.
I only need to load the truck a couple times a year. So I dont really want to bag the truck, just make it usable occasionally. Edit: Just found a current thread about airshocks that gives me the info I need. Thanks guys.
