Since I am new to the site figured I would post up and say hi. I have been toying around with getting a new project since I am to a point on the existing one (2005 GTO) that there wasnt anything more I really wanted to do to it right now. Since I just past a birthday (best reason I could come up) I figured now was a good time... so I started looking for a C10 and finally found a 1979 stepside project that doesnt seem too bad.

It was sitting in a garage for 12 years..

Only real issue is finding parts and fixing the bed. But the previous owner had a parts (some even new in the boxes sitting there)

So now the hunt for info and parts begins.. haha

looks great .. what are your plans for it? You may want to try our site vendors for parts and dont forget to keep us updated with lots of pics and if you want you can start a build thread in that section to document your progress..

Wish I lived there... Parts have to be easier to find in good condition

You'd think it would be easier but there alot of transplants that bring their rusted buckets with them, those are usally the ones being parted.

Welcome Aboard from Floridua !

Looks like a good start for a project, Shouldn't have any problems finding the parts you need other than a 350 grille emblem for 73-74's.....

im going to lower it 2/4 or maybe 4/6 (leaning towards the 4/6) Paint.. I really like flat black primer look. Engine work.. two options, work the 350 so I can throw a 6-71 on it or pull it and toss in a Iron block LS engine stroker in with a carb. Oh I will need the vendors for parts (cross sills, maybe a bedside and other stuff I find missing), and I know I saw someone on here for interior work (door skins). and lots of searching for bucket seat swaps.

Thanks!!! I might be lucky on that, the guy gave me several boxes of parts (gaskets, window felt, extra tail lights (alot in good condition). I might do a billet or large tubed grill.. since the original is missing

As requested..

Under there is a 403 LS2.. setup for Forced Induction if I ever get the itch

BC racing coilovers in front, and 5/16 raised drag springs and shocks in back.pretty much every bushing replaced.

the green LED's swapped over to Blue. Also the stereo was upgraded and extra lights put in the trunk.... sucks getting old.

Older pic before the coilovers..

Axle stubs replaced with something that wont twist and snap off in the pumpkin. I will take breaking bolts over Axle's any day (even though its a PITA sometimes)

Thanks and I will! the first thing is the bed, and really other then deciding if the bedsides are worth trying to save (one is pretty bad at the front bottom half) and figuring out who has what parts, I will be pretty safe on that. After that... too many questions from suspension to seats.
