1 Ton Axles

I am thinking of buying a set of axles form a guy for $2000, it is a D60 in front and a 14 bolt in rear, both have detroit lockers and disc brakes. Is it a good deal? do they just swap into any 73-87 4x4??

The 60 should bolt right in. The 1ton 14s have a different spring perch width.

If you buy them, make sure to get the u-bolt plates. The front plates are unique to the 60. The rear are different than a half ton, and usually on the bottom instead of the top like most 3/4 tons- top or bottom will both work as tube dia. is the same. Dually rear plates are different yet [bigger tube]. The front brake hoses are different also. front pinion yoke takes the same u-joint. rear yoke is the same as a 3/4 ton, bigger than a 1/2 ton. - and yep, 1 ton 14's spring pads are 40" c/c. 1/2 & 3/4 are 42" c/c.

The think is in the rear it is set up for a 3 link suspension w/ coil springs, but they are both 4.56's and this is Canadian dollars also.

math time kiddies:

dana 60 front: $1500
corp 14 bolt FF : $200
detroit locker @ $600 x2: $1200
disc brakes for 14 b: $300

total: $3200 (US Dollars)

that is a steal at the advertised price...isn't $2000 CDN like $75 USD? lol :p

if it didn't fit your truck as is, I would make it fit.
