Ok urgent**** truck stalled no powr

i have a big problem guys my truck has stalled and i have no power ignition no power windows.We checked battery we jumped starter we have head lights working tho.But no power ! we cant start truck! we where driving to gas station and all of a sudden we had back fire and then we turned over and it doesnt want to start???????? what could this be we also charged battery i have a 350 1982 chevy silverado

Did your cable from the battery to the starter ground to the frame or the headers?

I had that happen once, it was Just a bad positive cable. Check both cables. Run jumper cables from the battery to the block and starter. Gettiat doesn't work check fuses and fusible links. If those are all good it may be your ignition. The headlights should work in the "off" position but the windows wouldn't.

ON second thought it's much more likely it's a fuse so I'd check that first. The time it happened to me was probably a fluke.

idk man i think its the ignition inside the console like the u link thats in there.Well my truck was towed on a flat bed to a mechanic and going to get it fixed this week.I will update

Did you try running power to the purple wire on the starter and then jumping it with a screwdriver across the other poles?

Really damned hard to try and figure something like that out when it's not there in front of me. Your mechanic should have you up and running in no time. Not a hell of a lot of things to go wrong with these old trucks, that's why I like them.
