1972 Chevrolet Pickup with a Open Roads truck camper
Hello everyone. Back in the 70's I had a 1972 Chevrolet Pickup with a Open Roads truck camper. I sold them both and I thought I had some photo's of the truck and the camper. If anybody has some photo's of them can you please post them? Thanks, they were fond memories and I just wished that I had some photo's of them.

Re: 1972 Chevrolet Pickup with a Open Roads truck camper
Sorry, it's not an Open Road, but I thought you might like this shot I took of my 69 with a Four Winds shortly after I bought them new (ignore the date on the picture as it is when I took a picture of the slide). I'm new to attaching pictures so I hope this works. I still have the truck and camper, but not the bike.

That is gorgeous, everything about it...Truck, Camper, Bike, I can imagine going on vacation trips around the states in that...in the good ol days of course.
PS; I just thought about the overall length of that baby, and not a parking sensor in sight Not exactly what your after Pathfinder...but it may help.

Re: 1972 Chevrolet Pickup with a Open Roads truck camper
Thanks FirstOwner69, That is one sweet truck and truck camper you have there. You say that you still own it? I wished that I still had mine. My truck looked like yours only it was a two tone paint job, light blue and white. The truck camper looks the same too from what I remember it too. The Four Winds and the Open Road must have been very simular back in those days. The Open Roads that you see a lot of, at least what I see now when one mentions an Open Road was a Camper built right on the bed of the truck. My Open Road was a slide in Camper just like your Four Winds. If I could I would like to go back into time and get the truck and truck camper back again! Heck while I'm going back in time I would get back my 63 Chevrolet Impalla SS too. that's one car when I think of it I could just kick myself!
Thanks, Tom |

Re: 1972 Chevrolet Pickup with a Open Roads truck camper
Thanks Pathfinder450. Yup, I still have them both. I'm in the process bringing the truck back to life after about 30 years in my garage. The camper hasn't been used since 2000. It's still in great shape. Four Winds and Open Road were similar. I recall looking at the Open Road campers. I got mine in California where truck campers were the only way to go. I also miss my Impala SS (a '65) with the 327 and factory 4-speed. No one believed it was "only a 327").

Re: 1972 Chevrolet Pickup with a Open Roads truck camper
I just went and looked at a camper that looks pretty dang close to this one. It is in a 70 chevy and is really, really clean. I'm going to get the camper in a couple of weeks and will put it in my Longhorn and we'll use it this summer.

Thanks for the posting. It may not be what I was looking for however you did manage to get the truck color right. It did have a pickup long box. Anyway as I see it, it’s a bit closer. Thanks. |
