Re: 72 chevy 2 wheel drive

Take a look at my 70 4x4 build thread. Thats essentially what I did. And there are tons of other threads on here, pirate4x4, coloradok5, and countless others. There are different ways to build a suspension depending on what you want to do. Figure out if you want to build a hardcore wheeling rig, or just a nice daily driver, and research how to get there. Find what factory parts will work, and search around local wrecking yards, and people parting out vehicles. Just as an example, heres a list of where some of my parts came from,

front leaf springs-rear springs from a 76 1/2T suburban
rear springs- rear springs from a 97 2wd 1/2T
dana 44 disk brake front end- 74 1/2T
Transfer case- divorced 205 from a mid 70's dodge

All my mounts I built myself, but if you aren't able to, check out companies like diy4x and offroad design.

Re: 72 chevy 2 wheel drive

Do you have decent fabrication skills or DEEP pockets? If not, just find a truck that is already a 4x4. They are around. Craigslist is your friend.
