Your local GM dealer will have a Goodwrench real cheap. I bought one for my Blazer last month for $1220.
3 year/ 50000 mile warranty. They do charge core charges on them now. That was an extra 100, so 1320 dollars I guess. Back in the day, when you bought a new engine, you didn't have to pay a core charge. Things change though. |

I think Scoggin Dickey still has the basic GM Goodwrench 350 for $1279 or so (plus shipping). www.sdpc2000.com

Go down to a auto parts store and get a basic 350 longblock....most are made by Sequel (located in my town, 30 miles east of you). It will proably cost you $800 after the core charge. Not the best 350 you can buy by any means....but they do come with a 3 year/36xxx mile warranty and they aren't very expensive.

My Local autozone has a a 350 for between 600 and 800, with waranty,
but it is a throw away block, meaning it's already been rebult for the last time (this is what eventually happens to your core) but it should get you down the road till you can save up for a perfomance engine....... 9 out of 10 personallities agree that there is not such thing as too much horsepower.... the 10th one is in the corner strapping 36 model rocket engines to a pair of roller skates.............
