need help shortining 76 quad cab wb

I have some ideas on how i should go about this and will surely overkill it but this truck needs to b strong. I started with a 76 quad cab dually from "stonecarver" and its getting a built big block,th400, divorced np205, 14 bolt and looking for a 60 but my conundrum at the moment is im putting a step side short box on this truck and need to shorten my wheelbase. I feel cutting the frame is the best way to go about this im just looking for feed back as to where to make the cut???????? please help

Measure back 6 inches from cab (this should put you behind the front bed mounts circled in red) and mark the frame. Then measure 14 inches from there and make your next mark (this is the portion to be removed). It is best to do a z patern as in the pic.

Welcome to the forum painlessjake. The guys have steered you in the right direction for doing your SWB conversion. Just an fyi, when referring to your truck, its called a "Crew Cab", not a quad cab....

Thanks for the input guys I'm new to these trucks thanks to my dad gettin me hooked in them and helping me out with his knowledge I'll keep u all posted on the build she may never b a show truck again but will serve her purpose thanks again guys
