Re: What's Harvest Edition?

I know nothing of a Harvest Edition. I'd like to learn the facts if such a package existed. It could have been a dealer promotion,I suppose. But,perdy dang sure the factory never offered such a thing. I have never seen any sales info on them. I have seen the unusual black accent paint, which is not listed as a paint option from GM. IIRC,I have only seen it with Hugger Orange/Red Orange and both GMCs and Chevys.

Now that is a valid point. I agree with the statements it was not a factory option. There are to many knowledgeable people on this site and if they haven't heard of it then I am 99.99999999999% sure it never was a factory option.

Re: What's Harvest Edition?

Never heard of it either. Of course i do remember back in the 70's you could buy a brand new Sedan Deville with a three on the tree. It was sold to Amish people. plain jane as could be. they were factory or they maybe had them altered but they had them in dealer Gm catalogs. Might have been a regional thing like said.

That just seems goofy to me? Why would you start with a "high end" car like a Cadillac and strip off the "creature comforts"? You could have had a cheaper car in the first place where the "standard" transmission was a three speed manual.
Besides, Amish folks are not allowed to own a car anyway....much less one that could have been considered a "status symbol".....I call "Urban Legend" on this one.

Sorry longhair. I grew up about 20 miles or so from Plain City. I actually saw one. maybe they were Menonites (SP)? Its not about the price. You can call urban legend all you want They all had black stripped down caddies, buicks, or pontiacs. small hubcaps no frills.. If you don't believe it thats ok. I don't think they were status symbols amoung them. Now the horses that pulled the buggys' are status symbol. They spent money on them. many were ex race horses. The county sheriff would arrest them for drag racing. menonites amish pa dutch, all the same to me. I have no problem with them. They are just people like the rest of us. gm never stripped off the components they never were on in the first place.
