NO it doesnt smell like asphalt i live in el paso tx where the average temperature right now is in the low 100 s i think if it smelled i would definitely smell it
IMO the road noise has gone down enough for me to hear my wife talking to me comfortably, i can also hear the radio without raising and lowering the volume when im stopped

none whats so ever
the only reason i doubled up is the roads here are very hot cause of the temperature and the heat the motor produces made the floor board get hot so the extra layer made a huge difference
for the penny pincher guys i did the entire cab from the fuse box to the rear window with three rolls that is 48 bucks total

Here's a few pics of my peal and seal install in my 57. I am in AZ and it has been in for over a year, no smell yet. Did not put it above headliner yet. Just doing the 'field trial' first.

you do realize this stuff is an acoustic insulator and not a very good thermal insulator? yes?
