Wheel and tire size questions ?
I am going to be running 275/60/15's on the 8" rim which I have ran for years. My question is for the front, I want to run a 235/70/15 and was looking to buy a 6.5" van rally wheel and do not know if I would be better off with a 6.5" or 7" wheel. both tires are dead even in circumference at 87.8" on the front and 87.9" on the rear. So my question is should I go with the 6.5's or 7's on the front. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
Thanks PT

Re: Wheel and tire size questions ?
Personally i would go wider on the front. I like a little "dish" to the wheels. This is the same set up as you are mentioning except with an 8" up front.

Re: Wheel and tire size questions ?
Eric the only problem with the 8's up front are that is what I am running now and this set up is on my 94 silverado with a 4/6 drop and I am running 15x8" Weld Draglite XP's and they are rubbing the outer lip up front. I am going to run rally's for awhile and wanted to get something to tuck up front and I think the 6.5 or 7" rally's will work. The problem is that I have dozens of 8" rally's but need to buy the 6.5's or 7's. I have found some 6.5's from a board member and am sure the 7's will even be an easier find I just did not know if the 6.5" with that 235/60/15 would be to much side wall bulging out of the side.

Re: Wheel and tire size questions ?
8" Rallys were too wide to tuck after my suspension drop (2 1/2" spindles and 1 coil off springs) I went to pull-a-part and bought these 2 off a 87 or so chevy van for like $5.00 each (inc the junk P235/70R15 tires that are on them in this pic)
I changed to TTO 15x7 with P225/70 now (in sec photo) hope this helps! Chuck

Re: Wheel and tire size questions ?
Personally, i dont think the .5" difference will matter. Either wheel would work fine, but I think a 225/70/15 tire would make it look more proportioned
