Carburetor Question

Second part of question....

how much does it cost to get your carburetor rebuilt?

My truck is leaking a small amount of fuel from what appears to be the throttle body to bowl gasket on my carburetor. It's pretty minor, but I really want to get it fixed to be safe. Does anyone know if they sell that gasket at the local parts store or if I need to order it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. It's a stock Quadrajet 4 barrel on a 350. Thanks.

Re: Carburetor Question

OK, it might not be the gasket. If it is something more, how much should I except a carburetor rebuilt to cost. Does $185 sound fair, or is that to far out of line. Thanks for the input.

Re: Carburetor Question

That would be very reasonable for a "professional" rebuilt with ethanol resistant gaskets and accelerator pump. Must come with a guarantee, the non ethanol resistant accelerator pumps go bad in just a few weeks or less. Most professional rebuilders are getting $250-$500 depending on what's needed.

I was told to expect to pay $250-$300 to get my Carb fully rebuilt so I would agree with the $250-500 price range.
