Pro Street, I thought that died in the late 80's? Seriously, are you after a " look" or a vehicle that can actually function. The Pro Street and Gasser look have its appeal, but are limited in function. That look is cool if all you want to do is go fast in a straight line. Not so much if you actually like to go quickly around a corner too.

Why not build it to go fast, stop faster, and turn corners quickly too? The current "Pro Touring" style can be adapted to any car or truck and by design promotes increasing the over all performance of your truck.

Don't get me wrong, i like the pro touring look but only on certain vehicles and i think it has been overused because that is the majority of what you see when you go to car shows (ls engines and too many bolt on parts), i hardly ever see pro street anymore and i planned on making it function as well as perform, the 48 hour camaro used coil overs on all 4 corners and performed exceptionally well and thats what i planned on if i went pro street but i just don't see what i grew up around anymore... for example i was at hot august nights in reno last year, i saw more 80s pontiacs on 24inch rims and 37inch tvs in the dash than i did pro street anything and i saw too many pro touring cars that are all the same exact thing (bolt on performance) with different rims and paint jobs, and i know that the pro street thing has been over done in its lifetime but i haven't seen it anywhere but the internet lately... i guess that im just a little mad because the days of fabrication are slowly being replaced by direct bolt on parts...

Re: tubs or dubs... i need help

that truck is a bit much for me...especially at 18

but the plan for the truck now will be a twin turbo'd big block puffin through some caddi mufflers so no one knows what i got till i put my foot in it

p.s. building a twin turbo'd 540 big block costs less than a crate 572 with more power!

p.p.s. just priced it out the total build cost for a 540 twin turbo'd big block is about $11000 plus or minus a few hundred for misc. odds and ends that i may have missed...im gonna start pinchin pennies so hard im gonna make Abe Lincoln cry!
