Need a little information help

I need some information or someone to point me in the right direction on where to look. I have a 67 chevy short bed and the cab is in pretty bad shape ( It would cost me about 1,000 in new metal to replace every piece of rust on it) I found a 70 chevy cab that only needs rockers replaced and its a AC cab for 150 bucks and I need to know exactly what differences if any there were between the 67 and the 70 and is it going to be noticable if I change cabs. My other question is the fenders I know that 67's did not have marker lights but after looking at some of the pictures of 67-72 it looks like the front of the fenders are different too. I guess im trying to figure out if I can still use the 67 grill with the 70 fenders or if I can only use 67 fenders with the 67 grill. Only reason Im asking about the fenders is the guy only wants 30 bucks for the fenders and the only thing that is wrong with them is there are a couple of little dents in them but no rust at all. So if someone can point me in the right direction or let me know something I would appriciate it a bunch. Thanks

Re: Need a little information help

The 70 fenders will not work with a 67 grill. The area around the grill is different on 69-72 chevy than it is on 67-68 chevy fenders and GMC fenders.

Re: Need a little information help

sameyrasmea72 is correct on the fenders. There are alot of differences between the 67 and 70 cab.. some things are quite unique to 67, the 70 has a different emergency brake setup, a pedal instead of a pull handle, (you can weld up the holes then drill the correct ones) the major difference is the 67 dash, it has a wider ash tray, ign switch along with the lighter are not recessed like the 70, the glove box door is a 67 only and the fuse block is mounted different. the mounting under the seat for the factory jack is different. the vent doors, rods and handles are different, the firewall recesss is different.

Re: Need a little information help

I just swapped a 67 firewall into my 69 cab and as mentioned, the emergency brake set up is different and the dash panel but you can change the dash out by drilling the spot welds and removing a few bolts. I just cut the left side of the firewall out and swapped it to take care of the emergency brake difference. (see pic)

In fact, I still have that piece shown if you decide to go this route and need it. (one on right is the 67)
