1968 Golden Anniversary Fleetside C 10
I recently bought a C 10 Fleetside, doing a frame off restoration to build a driver with my son. I discovered that this was a 50th anniversary truck and was wondering if this truck is sought after and should be restored original, as we're thinking about rodding it and changing the color. Should it be sold to someone who wants to restore it original, because my son wants more of a rod truck, not an original. I just don't want to destroy a custom truck if it's a sought after style... Any suggestions?

Can you post some pics so we can see exactly what you're working with?

If you can, sell it to a true restorer. Just my opinion.
If I had the money, I'd restore mine back to original, but for now, just gonna be the teenager buildin a cool daily driver that's been in the family forever. |

its your truck, build it how you want it. if the metal is clean and rust free you will have a hard time finding a relacement.

Re: 1968 Golden Anniversary Fleetside C 10
Is it an original shortbox? Or a CST with options like buddy buckets? Or a big block? If so then I think it would be worthwhile to restore back to stock.
I own a 3/4 ton 50th anniversary truck. While it is nice and I like the colours, I do not think they are super special or super rare.

Re: 1968 Golden Anniversary Fleetside C 10
In my opinion, whatever you do dont cut chop or alter the lines of the original
truck. Do, however, bolt on, remove or tweek to make what you want. Its easy to change it back in other words if you decide to head more towards original. But starting condition will lead you to the direction that you will go. These guys are good at helping.....and pics are nice! Lets see it!!! A 50th is pretty cool to have. |
