Unhappy Body lift spacer question ????

What I want to know is is there a different type of bodylift spacers for different truks or are they all pretty much universal ? May sound like a stupid question but not like I build super swapin 4X4's for a livin . I was just curious because I'm about to start saving up for one for the burban. I have a catalog from LMC.com and everything in it is pretty much factory replacment and little accesories. Also is it hard to install the spacers or should I just take it to a shop which I know in deed has everything to do the job ?

If you want to install a body lift the right way the first time order one from performance accesories. I just installed a 3" lift on my '89 GMC Sierra Z71 and it looks great now. Performance Accessories kits come with everything you need including steering extensions, front bumper relocation brackets, fan shroud relocation spacers, shifter linkage extentions(automatic)(manual dont need any extensions).
My install took about 18 hours and 2 days to complete. I had many rusted bolts and other little things that pissed me off, but i did get it done and i dont regret installing it. Everything you need to install the kit the right way is included in the box and the instructions are detailed. You will need a jack and some blocks(to get the jack high enough), drill and bits, various wrenches and sockets. Just remember, if you get the kit and dont think you want to do the install after you look it over, there is always a shop to do it:p Good luck on your project and if you have any questions just ask!

Funny you should ask. I, or I should say my friend with my assistance, just installed a PA 3" body lift on my 95 Yukon today. I am pretty much a beginner mechanic but he isn't and I don't think I could have done it without him. The kit comes with everything you need to do the lift. My Yukon required 10 of the 12 included spacers and of course the extension brackets for the front bumper. We started at 9 this morning and finished around 9 tonight. The worst part was breaking the old bolts. We both feel like we just played in the superbowl. If you know someone that has done it before ask for some help.

The kit cost me just over $150+tax from 4wheelparts. They ae local here but you can check them out at 4wheelparts.com
I don't think there is any difference in spacers, but you must have a lift kit. MUST.

It was worth it though, the truck looks awesome!!! I wil be posting some pics this weekend.

These guys are right Performance accessories is the way to go. I installed a 3" on my 94 a couple of years ago. they come with everything u need. They did screw up when they packaged mine though, it had bolts for a 2" . But anyways I've done about 5 of them and would have to say they are best lift for your money. If u got any questions let me know.

Thanks for the info guys. Eventhough the truck is a 4x2 I don't want that to stop me from making a nice truck out of it with the 33's that are on it now. I want to make a really nice daily driver so I can start to do a Z project. And show some of these tards around here how to build a REAL "oldschool" sports car from japan.
