new drop shocks

Hello everyone. I installed some new "drop shocks".

I've installed some Monroes #5752.
Specs: 8.625" compressed
12.75" extended

My front is lowered with drop springs, aftermarket stock height spindles with disk brakes. I have been trying various "drop shocks" and not having much luck with them lasting more than 6 months or so. I've the dropshocks from Mcgauphys, LMC, and some Monroes 33033. The Monroes 33033 I believe are for the 88-98 chevy trucks.

Anyways how about some pics?

Re: new drop shocks

Drivers side. My suspension keeps bottoming out on dips and bumps. Note wasted bump stop.

Well we will see how long these shocks last. The "old" monroes 33033 only lasted about 6 months. My truck is a daily driver if that makes a difference.

Ditto ^ ... I'm dropping 3" in the front and 4" in the rear :s hopefully it sits level... but anyways, I will also be needing drop shocks and wondering which I should go with.

Re: new drop shocks

my drop is only 2" in the front. Rear is stock height.

I think the shocks were $22.00 at O'reilys.

Re: new drop shocks

if you were bottoming out with the old length shock, why would you go with a shorter shock?

Re: new drop shocks

Looks lower than 2" drop in the front. Looks more like 4". Might help if the rear was lowered a couple inches to...will actually bring the front up a bit....

I do like a rake to the truck but that much rake is probably causing your bottoming out issues...
