OK, that's weird...

So, tonight, I found that my hazards continue to flash after I put the truck in gear. Obviously, that's not normal for these trucks, and mine have never done that before tonight. Any idea what this means?

I doubt it, cuz the lights are just plug and play. Plus I've had the new lights (with resistors in the system to keep them from fast-flashing) on the truck for a couple years, and this just started.

Re: OK, that's weird...

Do you mean that when you put your foot on the brake pedal to put it in gear, that they still flash? That's the only way I can interpret your statement. I know mine will flash when I'm in gear, but not while my foot is on the brake.

Re: OK, that's weird...

Don, you're right. I just got mixed up -- they don't stop flashing when you put it in gear, they stop flashing when you put your foot on the brake. I feel really dumb. Thanks for setting me straight!

Good. I was trying to figure out how it could be anything else. Furrin' trucks, with the amber turn signals, will flash the emergency (red) lights when you're on the brake, but not this series. Thanks for letting us know.

Re: OK, that's weird...

This is some cool info. I never knew the flashers stopped. I had to go outside and check that out. ....Anybody know why they stop?

Re: OK, that's weird...

lmfao!!! I learned somethin today AND it was funny as hell!

On a serious note though, its a safety thing. Just imagine having to call your buddy to pull ya with a rope/chain back to the house at 3am. youd fer sure want your brake lights to work over the emer flashers, otherwise they probably wouldnt stop when you did, and without it running with no vac, you would be stopping rather more quickly I assume. Wonder how the insurance co would handle that one? Im a bodyman, I'd really like to know. (Could be useful)
