Re: a/c question

Probably not a speed issue, unless it won't run on high speed. There's a relay for the top speed. Yours may be bad. If so, it's not unusual.

If it runs on high speed, you may have an issue with the cables that operate the door, or a leaking plenum (the S-shaped piece). The doors that bring in outside air may not be sealing off. There's a piece of linkage on the passenger side of the firewall, right at the top of the firewall. You should check it, too. The valve that controls the hot water to the heater, may not be closing off. If it is an OEM type, there may be a problem with the vacuum that controls it, or the AC controller, OR you may just want to replace it with a manual valve that you can shut off. Heated water in the cab will give your cooled air a big obstacle to overcome.

Re: a/c question

Is the motor speeding up with each click of the switch?

Re: a/c question

the fan does change speed on every setting. i did notice that it blows a little bit out every outlet (floor, defroster, a/c vents). I know there is a problem there with the box but i would think it should still cool the cab. I will check those things. I dont know much about these systems though. It is a factory system, most of the parts in it are new.

Re: a/c question

The recirculating vent door (on the passenger kick panel, inside the cab) should be open when the A/C is on. If it is closed, that will rob your air volume big time. As Chevloray pointed out, the fresh air door (pass side cowl, under the hood) should be closed.

Re: a/c question

ok, the door on the passenger kick panel is working. it doesnt look like the parts on the passenger cowl under the hood doesnt seem to be working. I tried everything and that linkeage that goes through the firewall never moves. could that be my problem maybe?
