I put a 1" spacer on mine and used the factory kickdown bracket. On mine i had to take it off the bracket and the square cut end of the cable, where it goes into the bracket was threaded. So i would pull it out and adjust the length by threading the cabel. I set it up so with the carb at full throttle you could pull the TV slider about 1/8 to 1/4 farther. I have never had any problems with mine and i think the kick down is just right.

I disconnected it. It's weird, my gas pedal is so easy to push now. I might try to fix it this weekend.
