Gas gauge problem
The gas gauge in my truck is not working properly it jumps around the whole time and i never really know how much gas I have, what causes this? or how can I fix it? This is on a 1500 chevy 2000 model 5.3

On my 83 it did the same and it was a bad float on the tank pickup assembly.

Fuel level sender in the tank. When you replace it, I recommend just replacing the entire pump assembly with one from GM, ACdelco or Delphi. I've replaced too many Airtex or other pumps just after the warranty expired.
