ex-cab seat options

So I bought a 91 silverado extended cab in excellent condition. (pics to come later) 82k original miles. It has the 60/40 split bench which I am disliking more each day.

I'm wondering what options I have for the front seat. Did the 60/40 split come in all extended cab pick ups?

You can go with a bench or buckets. No , they didn't come in all.that was an option.

Make me smart here dear......

Did they make a bench or bucket to go forward far enough to get passengers in the back ?

I have the 60/40 and my 40 (pass side) has three levers to operate for it to go forward..... I wouldn't mind having a bucket set with console if they had that option and I could find them.

Re: ex-cab seat options

im running junkyard buckets from a 97 bronco. with about 76-77 blazer risers. console in the middle. you wont like a bench any more than the 60/40. the is a thread by BHBurban about seat compatability. theres alot of good info on there. i would post a link but i dont know how.
edit: buckets with center console WERE options. very rare options but still available

Re: ex-cab seat options

restorob,
yes buckets were a option (and not rare) in the extended cabs.you will find them in the higher end silverados. even a set out of a tahoe or burb will bolt right up for you.the bench seat...........mmmmm,might be second guessing myself on that one. im almost positive they were available in the work tuck/cheyenne model.

tugowar,
your truck being a 91, the "correct" buckets or bench would be from 90-91(low bck buckets, full velor fabric) any 88-94 seats would be interior style correct, and any 88-98 will fit.of corse with bucketsyou would need to drill inner holes. i have high bck tahoe/burb seats in my 90.love them.

Re: ex-cab seat options

My '91 ext. cab has high back buckets and console that came originally from the factory. I've seen a bunch of sets go through my local pick n pull usually in burbs.

Re: ex-cab seat options

Great information here guys, thanks very much.

The high back buckets with center console are what I'd prefer. the low back split bench are ugly and sooo uncomfortable...

My only concern with drilling holes is that the floor is not reinforced for it and therefore weak in the event of a collision.

Have you read this thread http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=445938 and checked for dimples and reinforcement ?

dishow, After looking here http://www.compnine.com/index.php I see the bucket takes the same part number double seat track as my "40" seat, What I meant by "if I could find them" is I live in a one traffic light town with one junkyard.
