new here with suspension question.

I just bought a 67 short stepside in pretty decent shape for 1500 bucks. it has manual steering , manual brakes and a six with a low geared rear. Ive found a 71 custom camper special really cheap with ps, pb, 350,350 replacement rear and misc stuff my truck could use. Ive read that the later model trucks match up most of these things too, what would be the better route? the 71 or look to something newer for drive train, suspension , brakes , and rear but have no other parts like fenders or cab / interior items.

on a second note ive read about the notch for steering boxes in the 67 , any links to pics of this conversion showing what needs to be done to the frame to make the swap?

Thanks for any suggestions and , wow some nice member trucks ive seen browsing these forums!

Re: new here with suspension question.

If the 71 running gear/suspension is in good shape switch it over, they will bolt right up. Latter model stuff starts getting costly and fab work might be needed.
