92 GMC Muffler issue

I took my truck in to get inspected last week and was told I need a muffler to pass emissions. This is the second time since I bought the truck that I've had it inspected. I posted some pictures it looks to me like it has a old single in single out "Cherry Bomb" Muffler that the guy cut the dual tips off of to fit the larger spare. Here are some pictures of it. Guys let me know what you think the best fix it going to be to get this thing legal again, if any fix is really needed!

Well, We don't have emissions testing down here so I don't follow what the heck tail pipes have to do with how much emissions are put out of a engine.

If it were mine I'd throw the spare in the bed and add two straight pipes to the muffler outlet with clamps to clear the bumper, Take it back through inspection and once passed remove the pipes then put the spare back....

Re: 92 GMC Muffler issue

Finally go my truck inspected this morning. Here's a pic of the "Extensive" Modification to my muffler to get it to pass emissions in Texas. The repair cost me a whopping $20.00 and is a temporary fix. The guys told me that my exhaust system and muffler were fine. I either had to bring the exhaust pipe out past the bumper or bend the tips down. Hope you guys enjoy!!!
