4x4 Converison cost?

Whats the approximate cost of converting a 1 ton 81-91 to 4x4? DRW, not SRW. Thanks, Bradley

Re: 4x4 Converison cost?

All depends how cheap you can find the parts for and if you can do the work yourself. Probly the most expensive is the front axle.

Re: 4x4 Converison cost?

$1,000-3,000+/-.
If you can buy a junker and do the work,as cheap as $1,000 or even less.
If you buy and axles and all the associated parts it will get closer to $3,000. A lot depends n if the used parts are good to go or need attention, like brakes, king pins,seals,u-joints,etc.
Even more if you have to pay for fabrication or any other labor. The best way is find a donor for $1,000 or less. They are out there. A friend bought at least 3 last year off Craigslist and they were all SRW.
