Re: Paint Ideas!
Mine is some kind of orange, and I love it. No paint code for this one, and the pic is a little blurry but you can get the idea.

Re: Paint Ideas!
If orange is your flavor, I'd suggest something pearl, maybe a burnt orange or almost copper. The mid 2000's Nissans had a nice pearl orange. Every manufacturer has their version of the copper pearl color. I would say to stay away from Hugger orange and Chevy engine orange, though. Very, very overplayed. Get something fancy that says you spent a ton of money on it, not a color off the walls at Home Depot's paint dept.
You can also think about doing a two-tone with white, pearl white, silver, or something like that. Crap, even lime green looks good with pearl orange. You can also do a light orange-dark orange two-tone. Here are some:

Re: Paint Ideas!
I am using a Chrysler orange for the top part of my truck. They use the color on the new Challenger. Heavy pearl, great in the sunlight. Any shop with current color books would have it. It is similar to the Nissan colors shown above. The Chrysler orange is not a tricoat color. That saves time and money in the spray booth.

Re: Paint Ideas!
What year truck?
What trim level (Silverado, scottsdale etc)? Are you going to keep the body mouldings? I always think a simple two tone with white as the second color always looks nice.

Re: Paint Ideas!
i plan on doing a bedliner paint job. Theres a company called u pol that has a line out thats very popular with folks and it comes in a tintable version that you create any color with. I am hoping to do black with a metallic flake or a pearl. not too many ppl like it but i think its pretty dope.

Re: Paint Ideas!
Why not post up a pic on the Photoshop page and see what someone can do with it?

Re: Paint Ideas!
I love orange, it's my favorite color. I've always loved hugger orange, a 69 Camaro with white stripes is my dream car. The new Camaros have a really ugly orange though, called inferno, and it always seems to come with black stripes. Anyway, where was I? Oh yeah, orange. I am currently painting my crewcab black. I would love to have painted it orange BUT, in NH the DOT has orange pickups and they used to have crewcabs, so I was afraid my truck would look like an old state truck that came from an auction, instead of a custom pickup. Not sure why that would be such a bad thing, but I just didn't want it to look like an old, worn out work truck.
I also considered painting it safety yellow with a white side stripe and roof, but my wife convinced me it would look too garish. I even painted up an old door yellow and white, I thought it looked good but she didn't. Not sure when exactly I started listening to my wife, but whatever.

Re: Paint Ideas!
#3. I love that truck. Looks like cheeze whiz orange. Too much for me but I still love it. Candy Tangerine is the most beautiful color I have ever seen but it's kind of a show car color. I painted my 68 Camaro Hugger Orange once. It looked like a pylon.

Re: Paint Ideas!
The orange close to the Highboy Fords looks good... ya, blasphemy, but I think the color fits the era of the trucks...
