Safe selling?

I am selling a truck, and the person buying is across the country. What would be the safest way to have payment made? Thanks.

Re: Safe selling?

I use a bank to bank transfer. I just let my banker set it up.

Re: Safe selling?

Yep, bank to bank wire transfer, some fees involved but absolutely safe. Too many issues with personal and cashiers checks, escrow accounts, etc. I would also make the buyer responsible for shipping arrangements. You can facilitate by cooperating with the loading etc. but the second its on the truck it is his problem. Take lots of pictures of the condition when it is being loaded in case it gets damaged in transit, sometimes they are reloaded and shuffled during the journey. Tranmit any titles by certified signed receipt postage separate from the vehicle.

Re: Safe selling?

When I was selling items on ebay and the person didn't want to use paypal, I would see where the lived (shipping address) and see if I had my bank nearby. I would call thier local bank and set up a deposit with the banker, and have my customer ask for this banker when he went to make the payment. You will need to know what banks are in the both areas (chase, wellsfargo, B of A...etc).
