Had a squeaky console....Not any more

As our trucks get older and the plastic shrinks everywhere, we all get squeaks at one time or another. Finally came up with an idea to fix the console that was squeaking.

After taking it out and removing everything I could. I filled the empty areas hidden inside the console with that expanding foam insulation in a can from Lowes called Great Stuff. http://www.lowes.com/pd_13617-236-22...ion&facetInfo=
It's less than $3 a can and one can will do it all.

Worked great. The thing doesn't move anything like it did before and is quiet as a church mouse with booties on.

Next project is to paint the carpet that has non removable cola stains on it. Did it to my beater and it's carpet came out looking like new.

Just FYI

My Burb has a bad case of the interior squeaks too. I go around looking for loose trim screws but don't find many loose. I tried putting some body caulk tape behind where the screws go through but didn't help. It's just gonna squeak.

Yep I got the same problems and have got used to them. I like the idea of foam on the center console that's cheap and easy thanks for the info!
